OdeCoins are associated with an activity that is part of a challenge and are granted for general contribution to the OdeCloud knowledge base. Contributions such as posts, comments, replies, reactions and sharing will reward users with points (a.k.a OdeCoins). Earning a certain amount of OdeCoins is also a required challenge to move to a higher rank. OdeCoins can be exchanged for monetary or non-monetary rewards.
A challenge consists of one or more activities a user needs to complete to earn a gain (i.e. sum of OdeCoins earned per activity). Once a challenge has been completed for the next rank, any additional activity completed will count towards the corresponding challenge of the next higher rank. A list of challenges have to be completed in order to reach the next higher rank.
The sum of OdeCoins earned for all activities required to complete a challenge. E.g., each training event attended earns 10 coins, 5 training events are required to complete the challenge. I.e the gain of the challenge will be 50 OdeCoins. These gains are subject to change as we further develop this gamification system.
A level assigned to a user based on their activity. Rank is and will be used in various ways, such as calculating their hourly rate, helping clients to hire the best person for a project, unlocking OdeCloud benefits and promoting their profile throughout the platform, etc.
For all ranks except Legendary, users have 6 months to complete a minimum required challenges and contribution points to maintain their current level, otherwise they will move back to the prior rank. For Legendary rank, the period is 12 months.

FAQ
Initial Release:
Clients and OdeCloud will use ranks as a decision factor for hiring. Higher ranks can result in a higher hourly rate.
Future releases:
A public version of your profile, including your rank and many other information to showcase your expertise to interested parties.
Not necessarily. Consultants with higher ranks earn more because OdeCloud reduces its marketplace margin to better reward the best performers. Why? First because they deserve it. And, second because we are about building long-term relations as opposed to maximizing short term profit.
- Coins/Gains
- Total coins update once a challenge has been completed. I.e., once the required number of events have been attended.
- Once a challenge required for the next rank has been completed, every additional activity completed will count towards the respective challenge of the next higher rank.

- Immediately after all required challenges for the rank have been completed
Note that the updates are not real time and might need a browser refresh to be reflected in the UI.
One or more coins can be earned by completing an individual activity, such as an event, a post or any interaction with it, completing your user profile, etc.
Gains/prizes are the sum of all coins earned for the number of activities required for a challenge. E.g., if 2 accepted invitations to the OdeCloud network are required to complete the challenge and each of these earns 25 coins, the gain/prize for the challenge is 50 coins. Once
Your rank is visible to all users on the platform and on your public profile, if you chose to display your profile publicly.
With every challenge you earn coins. Once a challenge has been completed, coins will be added to your total balance.
Coins can be redeemed for gift cards, coupon codes or cash.
